A verse in Russian language on the wall of derrickman's shack. Derrickman works off a small platform around 30 metres above ground level. This is a physically demanding job which also involves prolonged exposure to elements, and is often said to be worst of all jobs on the rig.
The verse runs:
'Derrickman's is a dangerous job
He's looking around from above
Everyone's shouting at him
Saying 'through us more pipes!'
He is screaming and shouting
But he won't give them any more pipes
'No way that I'll give you the pipes - he says
I'd rather throw you a piece of shit instead
And the shit is flying over driller's head
And lands right in the driller's eye' |
